Nig@thon is a special android application development event for female undergraduate students of Nigeria tertiary institutions (Universities, polytechnics, colleges of education) and senior secondary schools.
The event which is being organized by a volunteer committee of members of Intelligent Systems Group University of Ibadan (ISG) and Global centre for Information Technology Empowerment and Education (iTEE), is led by Dr. Yetunde Folajimi, a Computer Science expert at University of Ibadan. The event is completely free courtesy of seed fund from Institute of International Education (IIE) Women Enhancing Technology (WeTech). WeTech is a 2013 Clinton Global Initiative Commitment to Action that was launched by USA former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.
Free snacks, lunch, souvenirs and training kits are provided courtesy of donations from our sponsors.

Principals of secondary schools are invited to nominate a female student from each school to participate at the geek girls codefest (coding competition) of the event. The most talented geek girl goes home with a laptop and a plaque for her school. Consolation prizes also goes to 1st and 2nd runners up.
